Equi-Librium Seminars

  Rider Fitness Lectures

Lectures are generally one hour in length. Topics that are covered include:

  • The definition of rider fitness
  • The aspects of rider fitness
  • The importance of being a fit rider
  • The different types of injuries an unconditioned rider is at risk of sustaining
  • How rider fitness relates to the group's specific sport
  • Eamples of rider conditioning exercises

The lecture is a forum for education and generating discussion surrounding this topic. A lecture is the first step in the rider's journey towards becoming a more involved member of the horse-rider team.

  Rider-Oriented Ball Exercise Classes

These workshops are the next step in your journey towards your fitness goals as a rider. The workshop is three hours in length and covers topics such as:

  • A practical warm-up routine for yourself before you warm up your horse
  • Practice of visualization techniques using the ball as a tool
  • Strengthening exercises specifically targeting the needs of the athletes
  • Stretches that focus on muscles that are generally short and tight in riders

Handout resources are given to the athletes to take home with them. They include all the material covered in the workshop, as well as tips to help the riders remember technique. All equipment is provided for the workshops. There is an opportunity to purchase the equipment at the end of the workshop for a discounted rate.
